Tesla’s program is designed to reward both existing owners and new buyers. As an existing owner, you can share your unique referral link with friends, family, or anyone interested in purchasing a Tesla. When a new customer buys a Tesla using a referral link, both you and the new buyer receive benefits.

How to spend Tesla Referral Credits?
Tesla Shop: On final checkout select “Tesla credits” as your main payment card to pay for items.
Supercharging: Open your Tesla app and navigate to “Charging”. On the next page, you’ll have the option to select Tesla credits as your main payment card for charging sessions.
Software Upgrades: In your Tesla app, go to “Upgrades” and then select “Software”. Choose the software upgrade you want, add it to your cart, and proceed to checkout. At the payment step, you’ll be prompted to choose a payment method and select Tesla credits.
New Vehicle Purchase: You cannot use Tesla credits immediately when ordering a new vehicle. You must wait until you receive the final payment invoice. Only at this stage will you have the option to apply your Tesla credits towards the deposit.
Vehicle Servicing: For servicing, Tesla credits can only be used after the service is completed. Once your vehicle is ready for collection, you’ll be asked to confirm the cost. At this point, you can choose Tesla credits as your payment method.

How easy is it to buy a Tesla online?

How to check my Tesla Credits?
You can access and redeem the credits in your Tesla app.
- In the top top-right-hand corner click on the Tesla the three lines
- Click on your profile image and then click “wallet”, from here you can view your Tesla referral credits.
When I will receive my Tesla Credits?
The Tesla Referral credits will show as pending in your referral history on the app until the new Tesla is delivered.
On collection/delivery day the referring Tesla owner will have an update in their Tesla app and the credits will show are available to redeem.
What can I exchange my Tesla Referral Credits for?
Tesla Supercharging miles are the obvious way to spend your Tesla referral credits. There’s something quite exciting about charging your Tesla for free!
You can also exchange your Tesla credits for a variety of lifestyle products, Tesla accessories, software updates and servicing.
Can you add a Tesla referral code after placing an order?
Tesla doesn’t allow you to add the referral code after you have placed the order. You can read the full terms of the Tesla referral scheme on their website.
How to use Tesla Referral Credits?
Tesla Referral Credits can be used for things like new Tesla vehicles, software upgrades (like Full Self-Driving), Wall Connectors, Supercharger miles, and sometimes even Tesla merchandise. To use them, log in to your Tesla account, check your credit balance, and see what you can buy with them. During checkout, you’ll usually have the option to apply your credits.

Yes, the Tesla Referral Scheme is currently active in the UK in 2025. Here’s a summary of how it works: If you use a referral link from an existing Tesla owner when you purchase a new Tesla, you’ll receive a £500 discount off the purchase price. This applies to new Tesla vehicle orders.
If you buy any Tesla vehicle outside of the UK?
My Tesla referral code can be used in countries outside the UK where Tesla accepts orders for new vehicles or Solar Roofs. Referral rewards may vary by location, so you’ll need to adjust your location on the Tesla website after clicking the link, as it initially directs to the UK site.
